Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Workstation

  • 16” MacBook Pro, M2 Max, 96GB RAM, 2TB (2023)

This is the Ferrari of laptops - sleek, incredibly powerful, and operates in absolute silence. Whether running complex code or simulating heavy-duty tasks, it's my powerhouse that doesn't break a sweat.

  • Mac mini, M1, 8GB RAM, 256GB (2020)

The Mac mini is like a classic vinyl record - small, compact, but punches above its weight. I collect these compact powerhouses for their sheer ability to deliver, ensuring I always have a backup in my tech arsenal.

  • 12.9” iPad Pro, M2, 1TB (2023)

The iPad Pro is my window into the digital universe. With its unmatched high-resolution display, I can dive into granular details, making it indispensable when working on large-scale projects.

  • 43” CJ890 Super Ultra Wide Curved Sumsung Monitor

My Samsung monitor is my magic portal. It provides a sweeping view of my work, immersing me in my tasks with its curvature. Its myriad features always make me feel like a sorcerer in control of his domain.

  • Logitech G913 Wireless RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

This Logitech keyboard is my throne for typing. Even if I end up in awkward positions, the comfort and tactile feedback from each keystroke make the experience luxurious.

  • Logitech G304 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse

The Logitech gaming mouse is my digital chariot. Even as I navigate the digital battlefield in less-than-ideal postures, its precision and responsiveness keep me in control.

Development tools

  • Xcode

Xcode is my barebones toolbox for software craftsmanship. Regardless of the bells and whistles found in other IDEs, the straightforward simplicity and robustness of this tool keep it at the top of my list.

  • VSCode

Think of VSCode as my lightweight yet potent Swiss Army knife. It may lack the glitz of other IDEs, but its efficiency and flexibility are unmatched, making it my go-to choice for coding.

  • Vim

Vim is my zen garden in the world of text editors. Despite its lack of fancy elements that others boast of, its minimalist approach and efficient capabilities make it the master of its trade in my eyes.

  • iTerm2

iTerm2 is my sleek, tricked-out terminal ride. While I can't put my finger on its unique offerings beyond macOS Terminal, it's the interface I prefer for cruising through command lines.

Design

  • Figma

Figma is the hub of our creative collaboration. Originally a design tool, it has morphed into our interactive canvas, revolutionizing how we brainstorm and bringing our team together in unexpected ways.

  • Adobe XD

Adobe XD is our team's virtual art studio. Although we adopted it for its design capabilities, it quickly became the epicenter of our group's creative ideation, demonstrating the power of team collaboration.

  • Keynote

Keynote is more than a presentation tool; it's our company's digital mural. Initially used for crafting slides, it has evolved into an interactive workspace that encourages dynamic collaboration throughout our team.

Productivity

  • Screen Time

Screen Time is my digital bouncer, keeping distractions at bay. It ensures I stay on track when I need to build up momentum and focus on important tasks.

  • Apple Music

Apple Music is my personal DJ, filtering out the noise of the world. When it's time to get into the zone, it provides the right rhythm and melody to accompany my workflow.
